It's been a while since I wrote something. I've been quite busy with my R.L. as well as my ongoing project on nationstates.net which are both going good (may it last for a good long while ^^)!
I decided to write this journal because, I need to ask you all a question : Do some people go too far in their adoration of a fictional character?
For those who know what case I am referring to, I know it's kind of old news (even tho one or two weeks is not exactly old, but I digress.)
For those who don't, rather than making a journal that takes one millennium long to read, there is a link to an article that talks about the Kevinsano ''incident''. www.avclub.com/articles/the-in…
I would really love to get your opinion about all this, because, to me it is something huge. I mean, I do really wonder what drives a person (usually a man) to claim being and be absolutely persuaded to be married or engaged to a fictional character.
I remember when I was in the height of my ''bronytude'' I had quite a fascination for Rarity. As you probably have guessed with my rant on Rarity x Spike shipping. Which is the peek of what my fascination to that character. Never ever have I managed to go as far as that man did, and to be honest, I'm quite proud of it. Because, I could have gone there myself. I mean, until precisely a year ago, my sentimental life was as fertile as the Death Valley. I was lonely and had a lot of time in my hands. But somehow, I managed not to fall into that trap and even found the love of my life, whom I reassure you all is a real person who makes me the happiest of man!
The fact that not only that poor soul managed to fall into that trap, but also actually got married with his custom Twilight Sparkle plush is mind-blowing! To him, that stuffed (no dirty pun intended) representation of that pony is the ''real deal''. Insanity? Desperate man, looking for love and care? Attention freak? What do you friends think it might be? How can this be explained? Is there even an explanation to this?
In the wait of reading from you. I wish you all well!
